The MGF will cover a maximum of 75% of the total project costs. The balance of 25% of total project costs should be provided by the applicant.

No. The applicant’s contribution can be a cash and/or an in-kind contribution.

Where the applicant has already made investments that contribute to the implementation of the proposed project, these will be considered as in- kind contributions.. Examples of eligible in-kind contributions include:
Where the applicant has already established boreholes for a proposed irrigation project.
Where the applicant has constructed a facility for the installation of processing equipment.
Where the applicant contributes materials to the project such as irrigation equipment, machinery, construction materials.
Where the applicant has paid for technical services for project feasibility/design or other advisory services.
In-kind contributions will be valued on the basis of documentary evidence of expenditure to be provided by the applicant.

The maximum value of the grant is £100,000 for a Mid Size Farm, and £75,000 for a smallholder farmer cooperative. The minimum size of the grant is £15,000 for both categories of applicants.
